Does your bride or groom smoke? Consider asking them to give up this habit on their wedding day. Other brides and grooms have later said they regretted being photographed like this. Reason 2 - The Bride Might Have Nicotine Stained Hands Nicotine can stain a manicure. If the bride is showing off her ring to her guests they will see the stains on her fingers, not to mention the camera will pick them up when a close-up is taken of her hands. Reason 3 - They Could Damaged Their Wedding Attire The bride and groom could ruin their clothes by dropping ashes on them and the smell of smoke will damage their clothing. Reason 4 - They Will Be Greeting Guests Smelling of Cigarettes The couple will need to hug and kiss a lot of guests who probably won't appreciate it if they smell of smoke. Reason 5 -The Bride's Veil Could Catch on Fire Smoking while wearing a veil is a safety hazard. It might be very difficult for a couple to quit smoking for a day so be prepared help. Ask the venue where people are allowed to smoke and ask the photographer and videographer to stay away from those areas. Carry breath mints and breath spray for the bride and groom and other members of the wedding party to use when they need it. If you are a smoker yourself, refrain from smoking near the event and if you must leave to have a smoke, make sure you have an assistant take your place at the wedding.
