Title Become a Top Wedding Planner – Create an Outstanding Vendor Network
Category Working with Vendors
Article As a wedding planner you will rely heavily on the skills of your vendors, photographers, videographers, caterers, bakers, and others in your network, to help you create the weddings of your brides’ dreams. You will want them to be honest, reliable, professional, easy to do business with, creative, and highly skilled in their field, just like you are. You will need to go out and find vendors who will suit your requirements.

Here are 5 places where you can find them:

1) Wedding and Event Planner Associations

If you join associations and attend their meetings, you will meet many vendors who join looking for wedding planners they can partner with.

2) Bridal Fairs and Expos

If you exhibit or attend a bridal event, you will meet many other wedding vendors.

3) Business Networking Groups

Local chambers of commerce, business networking groups, and business leads groups have vendors who work in the wedding and event industry.

4) Bridal Magazines and Online Wedding Magazine Sites

Most areas have a local bridal magazine in which wedding vendors advertise. You can also find them listed online on wedding websites. Call or email them and see if they would be willing to meet with you but do not complete any online contact forms that are meant to be used by brides.

5) Referrals from Other Wedding Vendors

Once you have met a few vendors they can introduce you to others in their networks whom you might want to work with.

You’ll want to interview the vendors to find out their about their businesses and see or taste samples of their work. And, you’ll want to share information about your experiences, show them your portfolio, talk about the types of weddings you plan, and let them know how you envision working together.
